M. Louise (Denman) Hunter, 100, of Saratoga Springs, NY, formerly of Dogwood St., Town of Ulster, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. She was born February 21, 1916 in Neversink, NY to the late William Van Benschoten Denman and Sarah Lavina Grant Denman. Louise was married to the late Rev. C. Pershing Hunter, who passed away on August 22, 1995. She worked for many years as a Registered Nurse, at Nassau, Manhasset, Maimonidies, and Liberty Hospitals. Louise was a member of St. James UMC in Kingston where she was very active in the Women's Society and was the founder and organizer of "Whale of a Sale" rummage sale, which is still in existence today. She was kind, loving, loved to garden, had a green thumb that wouldn't quit, and was a family history buff. Louise is survived by her children, Elizabeth H. Yates and her husband William of Kingston, John Pershing Hunter and his wife Linda of North Creek, her daughter in law, Cynthia Hunter Jerolino, grandchildren, John Hunter, Scott H. Yates, Sara N. Hunter, David Hunter, her sister Betty Longo, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Philip David Hunter, granddaughter, Cassaundra Hunter, and siblings, Thomas, Hugh, Elmer, Bruce, and Paul Denman, Anna Law, Mary McGrath, and Ruth Daniels. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston. A memorial service will be held at St. James UMC, 29 Pearl St., Kingston on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. James UMC Elevator Fund.
