Lydia H. Coffey

Lydia (Hopp) Coffey, 73, of St. Remy, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was born October 4, 1944 in Freiburg, Germany, to the late John and Erna (Streib) Hopp. She was married to Peter T. Coffey, they wed on August 14, 1965. Lydia immigrated to the US in October of 1954. She later graduated from Kingston High School, class of 1963 and the Benedictine Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1966, as a Registered Nurse.

She had worked at Holy Cross Pius XII, Ferncliff Nursing Home, and prior she had worked as a private duty nurse. Above all, Lydia was a loving wife, mother and a dedicated homemaker. In her free time, Lydia enjoyed reading and crafting.
She is survived by her husband, Peter T. Coffey, her sons, Peter B. Coffey and his wife Cynthia, Michael Coffey, Christopher Coffey, and David Coffey and his wife Lisa, her grandchildren, Karissa, Nicholas, Tyler, Mackenzie, Olivia, Nathaniel, Alexandra, Starrleigh, and Kalleigh, her siblings, Frieda Constant and her husband Doug, Trudi Hopp, Ed Hopp and his wife Evy, and Lena Smith, her sisters in law, Marguerite Streib and Joan Tierney, as well several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her brothers, Alexander and Walter Streib, and her sister in law, Mary Gilmore. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where family and friends may visit on Friday, Feb 23, from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. The service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10am with the committal service following at Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston. Burial in St. Remy Cemetery will take place in the spring.
