Luther L. Ellsworth, 99, formerly of Coffey Place Kingston died, October 28, 2014 at Golden Hill Health Care and Rehab Center Kingston.
Luke was born in Hurley, NY October 3, 1915 to the late Horace and Ella Mae Banks Ellsworth. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy during WWII. Luke worked in several different brickyards in the Hudson Valley with his last job being a carpenter for the New York State Department of Transportation.
He was the husband of Mildred Lasher Ellsworth who died in 1983, the father of the late Rosemarie Hamilton, the late Edith Long and the late Gloria Plogg, the brother of the late John, Arthur, William and George Ellsworth, the late Augustus Elsworth and the late Dorothy Bouton. Luke is survived by his son-in-law Bernard Hamilton of Tucson, AZ, six grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Luke will be reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 10am till 12 noon.
His funeral service will begin at 12 noon, with Rev. David Brechter officiating, followed by burial next to his wife Mildred in Montrepose Cemetery with Military Honors by the Joyce-Schirick VFW Post 1386.
