Kingston Louisa Chiarieri of Albany Ave. died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Ferncliff Nursing Home. She was 94.
She was born in Addison, Ohio, a daughter of the late Amodeo and Filomena D'Anastasio. Louisa and her family moved to Pianella, Italy at age 2.
Louisa married Antonio Chiarieri on January 1, 1938. They returned to the US in 1961 and lived in Cold Spring. Louisa worked at Butterfield Hospital for 15 years.
In the early 1990's Louisa and Antonio moved to this area to live with their daughter. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church.
Beloved wife of Antonio Chiarieri who died May 5, 2000; loving mother of Josephine Catalano and her companion Edward DuPont of Kingston, loving mother of Gabriel Chiarieri and his wife Terry of Rhinebeck; sister of Sylvester and Maria D'Anastasio, both of Italy and the late Cirica Forcone and Julia D'Anastasio; grandmother of John and Tina Catalano, Joanne and Arthur Kahlstorf, Kimberly and Stan Merritt, James and Jennifer Chiarieri, Mark and Lauren Chiarieri and Michael Chiarieri. Nine great grandchildren also survive as well as many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Italy.
Reposing at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral procession will form on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church at 9:45 AM. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
