Louis James Guido of Governor Clinton Apartments, Kingston died Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Albany Medical Center. He was 85.
He was born in East Kingston, a son of the late Peter and Lucy Conte Guido. He served in the US Navy during WW II in the South Pacific.
For 20 years worked at Star Brick in Ulster Landing; then worked for 7 years at a warehouse on Susan Street, Kingston. Worked for Local #445, Newburgh in construction for 8 years and then as a laborer for the Ulster County Highway Department for 10 years.
Formerly of Railroad St., East Kingston, he was a parishioner of St. Colman's Church.
His wife, Teresa Parise Guido, died previously. His daughter, Mary Lou Sasso died 2/4/2000. Five sisters Dolores Guido, Mary Iconetti, Rose Noble, Ann Guido, and Theresa Ferrendino, four brothers Joseph, Charles, Frank and John Guido all died previously.
Surviving is his sister, Louise Gardecki, of East Kingston, his grandchildren Marc, Lisa and Eric Sasso, one great granddaughter Mia Louise Sasso, a son in law Camillus Sasso of Glasco, many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral procession will form on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Colman's Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
