Louis Borkin, 75, of the Academy Green Residence died Friday, March 12, 2004 at the Northeast Center for Special Care. He was born in Brooklyn on June 7, 1928, a son of the late Isadore and Clara Rich Borkin. A longtime resident of Wassaic, Mr. Borkin moved to this area in the 1970’s. Since that time he has worked at Gateway Industries, Kingston.
An avid pipe smoker, he enjoyed going to the Hudson Valley Mall and the Uptown Cigar Co. Over the years Mr. Borkin vacationed in Hawaii, the Caribbean and around the country. He loved cowboy movies.
One brother Philip Borkin died previously.
Surviving are many dear friends at the Academy Green Residence, Kingston; three brothers George of New Canaan, CT, Milton and Myer, both of New York City; one sister Freida of New York City.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 12:00 at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Rabbi Yitzchok Hecht will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery.
