Lou Nicosia III of Pennsylvania Avenue, Palenville died Sunday, January 17, 2010 unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep at his home. He was 51.
Lou was born in Brooklyn, a son of Louis and Theresa Nicosia Jr. Formerly of Long Island, he graduated Central High School Valley Stream. Lou later lived in California and then Palenville. For several years he owned and operated an on-line business, "Loupert's Loot".
Surviving are his wife Dr. Leslie Nicosia; his sister-in-law, Irene Hood of Saugerties, his in-laws Anthony and Gertrude Hood of Saugerties; his two brothers Michael Nicosia of Valley Stream and Robert Nicosia of Colorado.
As per Lou's wishes there will be no funeral services.
Lou was happiest at home with Leslie listening to and making music. Lou also loved to share music with friends and family as he felt he could bring some joy into their lives as well.
Lou and Leslie were soul mates in every sense of the word. He will be missed more than words can express.
Due to Lou's fondness for and camaraderie with cats, we ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Alley Cat Allies (www.alleycat.org) in Lou's name.
