Loraine B. Peone

Loraine B. Peone of York St., Glasco died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Kingston Hospital. She was 79. She was born in New Bedford, MA, a daughter of the late David and Germaine Bourgon DeVoll. Loraine moved to this area in 1971. For many years she worked as a nutrition teaching assistant at Cornell Cooperative Extension. Loraine also taught meal preparation for the Ulster County Community Corrections Program. She was awarded the Pride of Ulster County for that work. A cat lover, Loraine volunteered at Animal Kind Rescue and fostered many kittens. Beloved mother of Germaine Tresvik of Ulster Park and Gary Lee Peone of Saugerties; grandmother of Kim Jr. and Daniel Tresvik, Jessica Miron, Loraine B. and Jennifer Peone; sister of the late Roland and David DeVoll Jr. Many nieces and nephews survive. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 12:00 noon. Interment will be in Rosendale Plains Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
