Linda Jessat-El Kadi, 67, of Kingston, died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Chizs Heart Street.
Born in Germany, she was a daughter of the late Gabby Jessat. She lived a life that was filled with compassion and love, especially for Herbie Berrbie, Wilbur, and Hipppity Hopity. Each night she enjoyed playing cards in the TV room. She never cheated. She would always leave the door open for Linda to come home. She was married twice, loved the Mets, and became a nurse. She worked as an RN at Benedictine Psychiatric Ward for many years. She came to Heart Street five years ago. Bent, but not broken, her life changed. She read books. She loved biographies and mysteries. To the end, even as her face met the table, she would read, in between the pain and suffering. The last book she was reading was about Jackie Onassis. Her last months were spent in Chizs room, where together they would watch The Crown over and over. She loved the British. She loved life, and found death a release to sit in the library of her dreams.
Her mother, a camp survivor, died about a month before her.
Linda is survived by her many friends at Chizs Heart Street.
A Graveside Service will take place on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10:00 am in Montrepose Cemetery.
