Lillian Aaron

Lillian Aaron, 85, of Delray Beach, FL, formerly of Kingston, died Monday, January 4, 2016 at Delray Beach Medical Center. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Irving & Anna Black Levine. Lillian graduated from Kingston High School and New York University, with a Bachelors in Business Administration. Lillian co-founded the Landmark Development Company with her late husband, Martin Aaron, a prominent local business man and real estate developer. Together they renovated the former Governor Clinton Hotel into a senior living residence and constructed the Yosman Tower Apartments as well as many other local and regional commercial properties. A recipient of many awards and an honree at numerous gala events, Lillian served on the Board of Directors of the Benedictine Health Foundation and Community Rehabilitation Center. Lillian has been recognized for her volunteer and fundraising efforts by the Benedictine Hospital, Gateway Industries, the Children's Home as well as the Boys' and Girls' Club. Lillian was a member of the Ahavath Israel Congregation and received the Eleanor Roosevelt Humanitarian Award in recognition of her outstanding service to the general community and her support of the State of Israel. In addition to her many business accomplishments, Lillian had a great love of ocean cruises and international travel. She enjoyed her experiences in China, Russia, Australia, Thailand, Turkey, Greece and throughout Europe. Although she spent many years in South Florida, she always referred to Kingston as home. Lillian greatly enjoyed music, loved to dance and had a special talent for beautifying her surroundings. Lillian was a loving mother to her daughter Randi Wienick, son-in law Lyle Wienick, of Rhinebeck and her son, Craig Aaron of Saugerties. She could easily be described as the ultimate doting Nana to her granddaughter Lynsey Wienick, a sister, Marcia Silver and her husband Bennet of Tappan, NY. Many nieces and nephews also survive. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Congregation Emanuel at 11:00 AM with Rabbi Yael Romer, officiating. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery. The family will sit Shiva at their home on Thursday from 6-8 PM with a minyan at 7:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 4-7 PM with a minyan at 6:00 PM.
