Lila Vazquez, 92, of Kingston, NY, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and devotion to her family on Saturday March 29, 2025, at Golden Hill in Kingston, NY. She was born on December 7, 1932, in the Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Mario and Elizabeth (Cusamano) Liguori. Predeceased by the love of her life of 37 years, Rocky Spadaro. She always considered the Bronx her true home, where she spent her childhood filled with adventure.
Lila worked as a bank teller for Kingston Trust for many years, as well as at Burger King in Kingston, NY. She was a woman of many passions—an avid reader who loved exercise, tai chi, walking, playing mahjong, and dancing. She was a proud member of the Red Hats and found joy in creativity as a seamstress for the Coach House Players of Kingston, where she designed costumes for their plays.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother (Nan), and great-grandmother (Great Nan), always offering wisdom, patience, and love. Her advice to those she left behind was simple but profound: Take one day at a time and find happiness in it.
Lila is survived by her children, Linda Fusaro-Scevola and her husband Robert of Highland, Lisa McCormack and her husband John of Kingston, Patricia Fusaro of Highland, and Anthony Vazquez (Vanessa) of Kingston, her grandchildren, Shane, (Beth) Jason (Fiona) Steven (Christina) Gabriella, Anthony Matthew, great grandchildren Kenzey, Mason, and Joelle, Dominic and Elaina and Rocky’s daughter Anita Spadaro as well as many other dear friends and family members.
