Leroy J. Loeffler

Leroy ''Roy'' J. Loeffler, 79, of Kingston, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Northern Dutchess Hospital, Rhinebeck. He was born November 22, 1930 in Kingston, the son of the late George and Emma (Bigler) Loeffler.




He was the husband of the late Sandra Dymond Loeffler, they had wed on April 2, 1966, she died on October 13, 2004. Mr. Loeffler was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1949.




He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War from December 10th 1950 to December 7th, 1954 as a Medical Administrative Specialist; he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.




He had been a manager for IBM, with 34 years of service, having worked in Kingston, Poughkeepsie and the Carolinas, retiring in 1989.




He had a long history of service to several churches, serving as a Deacon, Elder and Church Treasurer. He had enjoyed Bible study, yard work, taking care of his dogs, music and singing. He particularly enjoyed camping, with his wife Sandra, at many locations along the Atlantic Coast.




Leroy is survived by his sister G. Marion Warnecke and her husband Calvin Warnecke of Glenford, and his nieces, Cynthia Scherry and Gail Bamford and a nephew Calvin G. Warnecke.




Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. The family will receive their friends on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. The service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 6959 Route 9, Rhinebeck, NY 12572. Pastor Frank Cirone, officiating.




Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Stone Ridge with military honors. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 6959 Route 9, Rhinebeck, NY 12572.
