Lena "Lee" Cohen

Lena P. "Lee" Cohen, 97, of Kingston, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus. Born in Poughkeepsie, she was a daughter of the late Barney & Sadie Pedolsky Simon. Lee was a member of Congregation Agudas Achim and their Sisterhood. She was the past president of the Spring Lake Fire Department, Ladies Auxillary. She lived in Florida from 1979-2009 where she was very active in her communities. Lee enjoyed knitting, sewing, traveling and tending to her home. Lee is survived by her two children, Barry A. Cohen and his wife Claudia of Glenside, PA. and Barbara Blas and her husband, Howard of Kingston, six grandchildren, Dr. Harley Cohen and his wife Nicolette, Beryl Cohen, Reid Cohen, Jessica Singer and her husband Michael, Shaina Blas, Rebecca Blas, five great grandchildren, Ashley, Spencer, Ayellet, Gavi, Mira. Many nieces and nephews also survive. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rabbi Yitzchok Hecht of Congregation Agudas Achim, officiating. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Reher Center, UCJF, 1 Albany Ave. Unit G10, Kingston, NY 12401 or Congregation Agudas Achim, 254 Lucas Ave. Kingston, NY 12401. The family will be sitting Shiva at their home on Sunday, from 2 pm to 8 pm with a Minyan at 6 pm, and Monday, and Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm with a Minyan at 6 pm.
