The unveiling of the monument of Lena Rudolph will be conducted on Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Wiltwyck Cemetery (off West O'Reilly Street, Kingston.) Rabbi Yael Romer will officiate. The unveiling will be conducted rain or shine.
Lena H. “Pinky” Rudolph of Lincoln Park Place, Town of Ulster died Sunday, May 15, 2004 at Albany Medical Center. She was 85.
She was born in Kerhonkson on June 18, 1918, a daughter of the late Max and Sadie Gussie Rothstein. The youngest of seven children, she graduated from Kerhonkson High School, class of 1938.
Formerly of Ellenville, she lived most of her adult life in Kingston . She worked as a cashier/bookkeeper at the Kingston Grand Union. Pinky did most of her math on paper faster and more accurately than someone with a calculator. She retired in 1961.
Mrs. Rudolph was a former secretary and treasurer of the Sisterhood of Congregation Agudas Achim, where she belonged. She was a life member of the Kingston Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered at the hospital's gift shop. The annual bake sales benefited from her expert baking and organizational skills. Most of the itme her delicious carrot cake sold before the actual sale.
She served as secretary/treasurer of the Ulster County Agricultural Society at the Ulster County Fair and was a life member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 1386. She belonged to Hadassah, U.C.S.P.C.A. and the Friends of Historic Rochester.
In recent years she enjoyed travel with her travel group from the Ulster Savings Bank. From the Canadian Rockies to Costa Rica, she enjoyed her tiime with her friends seeing new things. She also spent time doing puzzles, embroidering and being with her grandsons.
She was married on November 15, 1942 and spent over 50 years with the love of her life, Irving Rudolph. He died May 19, 1996.
Four sisters, Celia Avol, Esther Shoflick, Sylvia Miller and Lillian Dembo and one brother Abe Rothstein all died previously.
Surviving are one daughter Zelda Ann Briglia of the Town of Ulster; one sister Mildred Resnick of Ellenville, three grandchildren Jeremy, Nathan and Eliot Briglia, her brother in law Sol Miller of Florida, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:00 at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, Rabbi Yael Romer will officiate. Interment will be in Wiltwyck Cemetery.

Shiva will be observed at 35 Elm Street, Ellenville on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (May 18, 19 & 20)
