Lawrence W. Ghiazza

March 22, 1932 — July 4, 2016

Lawrence W. Ghiazza, Sr., 84, of Port Ewen, NY, passed away on July 4, 2016. His loving wife of 57
years, Helene A., was at his side. He was the father of Lawrence W. Ghiazza, Jr. (daughter in law, Monika) of Poughkeepsie,
NY and Jeffrey Ghiazza (Kathi) of Pleasant Valley, NY.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Charles Ghiazza of Briarcliff Manor, NY, his brothers,
Charles Ghiazza, Jr. (and wife, Ethel "Sandy") of Ossining, NY, Edward J. Ghiazza (and wife, Betty) of
Whispering Pines, NC, Christopher T. Ghiazza of Briarcliff Manor, NY, a sister, Marie L. Ghiazza of
Branford, CT.

He is survived by a brother, Thomas C. Ghiazza of Colorado Springs, CO, sisters Adele Ghiazza also
of Colorado Springs, CO, Teresa L. Ghiazza of White Plains, NY, Frances G. Kovats (Walter) of Branford, CT, Nancy Itao (Gary) of Erie, CO, and Rosanne Ghiazza of Burbank, CA. He also leaves his Aunt Ret. Chief Master Sergeant Grace Ghiazza Peterson of Largo, FL. along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry served in the US Navy during the Korean War on the USS Salem. He was a retired Mail Carrier
for US Postal Service in Briarcliff Manor, NY, where he worked for over 30 years.

He was a US Junior Davis Cup Tennis Player, an avid Bowler, passionate Golfer and a three time former Commodore of the Kings Ferry Yacht Club in Verplanck, NY. He enjoyed boating and visited many places in the North East with his family on their boat, the Lucky Four.


Larry had been a member of the Anchorage Marina family in Eddyville, NY since 1967. Upon retirement he became a fixture at the Marina. He enjoyed maintaining the grounds and spending time there with his wife, family and friends. Larry genuinely liked everyone.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, where friends and family may visit on Saturday July 23th from 10am to 11am with the memorial service starting
at 11am.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Center for Dementia Research and The Parkinson's
Disease Research Foundation.
