Laura Buckley Veith

Laura Buckley Veith, 95, of Phoenicia, NY, died at home on Sunday July 25th 2010. She was born November 17, 1914 in Orange, NJ to the late Charles Henry and Victoria Todd Buckley. She was married to Dr. G. James Veith who passed away on October 10th, 1976.

Laura managed two doctors' offices in Suffren, NY. She was an alumni of Russell Sage College, a past member of Rockland Historic Society and was an active member of the Friends of Historical Kingston. Laura was a past Senior State President of N.Y.C.A.R. and a past State Secretary for the N.Y.S.D.A.R. Additionally, she was a member of the Suffren Presbyterian Church. Laura graduated from Ridgewood, NJ High School and was an active alumnus. She was an avid reader and a staunch American Patriot.

Laura is survived by her children Sara Elisabeth Veith Jenkins of Tarboro, NC, G. James Veith of Hurley, NY, Laura Josephine Veith Ely of Birdsboro, PA, and Susan Joann Veith of Phoenicia, NY and a sister Charlotte Eaton of Beacon, NY. She also has 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sister Victoria Snyder of Oklahoma.

Entrusted to the care of the A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston NY 12401. A memorial funeral service will be held at the Hurley Reformed Church on Wednesday July 28th at 11:00AM
