Kitty Satinsky

Kitty Satinsky, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on November 26, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the cherished daughter of Max Heischuber and Ester Zwirn. Kitty was preceded in death by her siblings Syma, Raechel, and Charles. In 1956, Kitty married the love of her life, Lauren Satinsky, who passed away in 2012. Together, they built a beautiful family and life, first in Kingston, NY, and later in Sun Lakes, AZ and Plano, TX. 

Kitty is survived by her children Mark Satinsky (Julie Glover) and Ellen Satinsky (Joe Larkin). She was predeceased by her son Neal Satinsky. Kitty was a devoted grandmother to Sarah Satinsky, Katie Satinsky, Emily Satinsky, Ainsley Larkin, and Emma Larkin, and a proud great-grandmother to Lauren and Benjamin Honeychuck. 

Kitty had a passion for shopping, bridge, antiquing, auctions, estate sales, and savoring good food, especially from New York. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, always seeking a good deal and cherishing meaningful conversations. Throughout her life, Kitty worked in various roles, including at a bridal shop, as a bookkeeper, and as the owner of Hidden Treasures, an antique store. 

A funeral service will be held at Congregation Emanuel of the Hudson Valley, 243 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401 on August 8, 2024 at 1pm, followed by burial at Montrepose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kitty's memory may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Planned Parenthood, or the People’s Place Food Bank. Kitty's warmth, sense of humor, generosity, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
