Katie Joyner, 56, of Kingston, departed this life on August 3, 2016 at her home.
She was born in Queens to Pansy Joyner. Katie, affectionately known as KK, received her education through New York State public school system. Katie relocated to Kingston NY at a very early age where she spent the rest of her life. Katie was a very courageous, cantankerous and fearless individual but such a gentle compassionate and loving individual whose smile could light up the room. KK spoke the truth no matter what, how you felt about it. She was kind and stubborn and loved by many, Pine Grove, IFH, Mental Health, Gateway, Multicounty, the local police, Yungchen, Sister Mary and many others. Her life complex as well as sweet. For she in her suffering, shared her days, often with those who like herself, suffered and found the door opened backwards. She lived as she died, with a little drama and a lot of courage.
Katie leaves to cherish her memories, her family in Kingston, Chiz's Heart Street, her daughter Shantae Lipscomb, grandchildren Jaddah Jenkins and Jayden Lipscomb, her mother Pansy Joyner, brother's Prophet Darryl Joyner Sr, Harold Joyner, Raymond Joyner and Rodger Joyner, Uncles Reverend Joseph Joyner Sr. and Samuel Joyner, Great Aunt Alena Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins. May her journey be one of light and love as she gave to this earth We love you but God loved you best, The family.
