Kathryn C Martin

Kathryn C. Martin of Edgewood Dr. died Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston. She was 81. She was born October 2, 1927 in New York City, the daughter of the late Lester and Katharine Neer Comly. She received her Bacherlor's degree from New Jersey State Teacher's College and for 27 years taught art at St. Elizabeth's School in Wyckoff, NJ. She was a member of the Rhinebeck Chapter of DAR, volunteered at Ferncliff Nursing Home with her therapy dogs, Senor and Filbert; she enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of the College Club in New Jersey. She was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church in Hyde Park. Surviving are her daughter, Kathy Vanoven of Rhinebeck and her son, William T. Martin of New Jersey. Four grandchildren also survive. Cremation was private. Arrangements are by Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston.
