Kathleen M. Smith of Dunwoodie Drive, Whittier died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Kingston Hospital. She was 66. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Joan E. McMahon Kless. Formerly of Cypress Hills, Brooklyn; Kathy married Edward Smith on February 19, 1972. They moved to Ulster County in 1974. For 15 years, she worked at AT&T as a Supervisor in Manhattan. Kathy later worked as a Teacher's Assistant at Community Rehabilitation Center for 20 years. She was a parishioner, lector and Eucharistic Minister of St. Colman's Church in East Kingston. Beloved wife of Edward Smith; loving mother of Christine Smith of Saugerties and the late F. Joseph Smith who died on March 24, 1992; grandmother of Raegen Marie Smith; sister of Frank T. Kless and his wife Peggy of Ruby, the late James M. Kless and his wife Joanne of Chester, Richard F. Kless and his wife Teri of Smithfield, RI. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at the Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral procession will form on Saturday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Colman's Church at 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Rehabilitation Center, POB 1488, Kingston, NY 12402.
