Kathleen D. Lifshin (Woods), 81, of Shrewsbury, MA, formerly of Kingston, died Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Oakdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Massachusetts.
A true Kingstonian at heart, Kate was born in Kingston in 1940, she was the daughter of the late James F. Sr. & Evelyn Doyle Woods and was the wife of Ronald J. Lifshin. She was a graduate of Kingston High School.
Kathleen is survived by her four daughters, Tracy Kristen of Shrewsbury, MA, Yvette St. Pierre and her husband, Thomas of Shrewsbury, MA, Beth Lifshin-Clark and her husband, Frederick of Delmar, NY, Sarah Amato and her husband, David of Lacey, WA; nine grandchildren, Olivia, Kameron, Rachel, Zachary, Ella, Benjamin, Hayden, Owen and Emily Kathleen. Many nieces and nephews, as well as her sisters-in-law Peggy Woods and Judi Brightly, and life-long friend, Elaine Avella Williams also survive.
In addition to her parents, Kate was predeceased by her husband, who passed in 1997, a brother, James F. Woods Jr. and two sisters, Mary Lou Smith, and Sharon Markle.
To her friends and family, she was Kate, Katie, Nana and Nanabanana. She fiercely loved her family, especially her nine grandchildren and grand-furbabies. She enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino, a competitive game of Words with Friends, watching every episode of “The Voice” and to facetime with her friends and family. Even when she was feeling poorly, she tried to convince her nurses to bring her a Cosmopolitan and wanted to have her hair dyed pink. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and kind friend. She will be dearly missed.
Kathleen will be reposing at the Simpson-Hammerl Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 4-7 PM.
Interment next to her husband Ron in Montrepose Cemetery will be held Friday, January 21st, at 11:00 a.m.
