Karen M. Beck, 51, of Saugerties, beloved wife, mother and daughter passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 20th, 2017 after a courageous 4 year battle with cancer.
Karen was born in Kingston, to Richard J. Casey and Rose Marie Costello Casey. She loved her husband, three children, Courtney, Michaela and Kyle and their dogs. She was the most spirited mom at the Saugerties High School Football games, always cheering on her son Kyle and his teammates. She loved camping, making ceramics, watching NASCAR and western movies. She was a strong and courageous person and did not complain a bit... She would often be heard saying, "I'm fine", making everyone smile even until the very end. Courtney, a CNA, was her loving and nurturing caregiver attending to her every need. She loved her husband. She was so very proud of all of her children.
Karen is survived by her husband of 29 years, Richard Beck, her children Courtney, Michaela and Kyle Beck, all of Saugerties and her father Richard J. Casey of Kingston. She is also survived by her Aunt Josephine Costello Reina, of East Kingston, her Aunt Barbara Casey Chambers and her husband Robert Chambers of Lamontville, her cousin, Rory Chambers of Lamontville, her cousin, Brenda Reina Seller and her husband Dan Seller, with their children Ryan and Loren of Sommers, New York. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her mother Rose Marie Costello Casey, Maternal Grandmother and Grandfather Frances and Russell Costello, Fraternal Grandmother and Grandfather Frances and Dermuid Casey and best friend Tammy Sagar-Lerue.
Karen will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 3-7 PM.
The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Monday at 9:00 AM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Colman's Church.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
