Justin L. Garvila

Justin Lane Garvila, 27, of Lexington, SC, passed away unexpectadely on Friday September 13, 2024. He was born on January 5, 1997, in Camp Lejeune, NC, son of Joseph Garvila, Jr. and the late Kisha Kolb. 

Justin attended Kingston City Schools from grades 4 to 11, and then graduated from Southwest Onslow High School in Jacksonville, NC. During his 3 years at Kingston High School, Justin was a member of the Varsity Swimming and Diving Team. After graduating High School, he entered the work force and in the last 2 years was attending Coastal Carolina Community College, working towards his degree. 

Justin was a kind, caring, and always willing to help individual. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed camping with his dog Benji, fishing, exploring trails, and trips to the shooting range. In addition, Justin’s passions also included gardening, construction, wood working, and crafting Kayaks. But above all Justin cherished spending time with his loved ones. He was an incredibly proud big brother to his little sister, Emma. He loved and shared a special bond with his cousins, Kaelan, Mackenzie, and Madysen, and together with his sister Emma, they all shared countless treasured memories. 

Justin is survived by his father, Joseph L. Garvila, Jr., Lisa Garvila, his sisters, Emma Garvila, and Lexi Kolb, his brother, Aidan Gallaspie, his nephew, Lucian Gene-Elliot Perkins (Lexi’s son), his aunt and uncle, Catherine and Dennis Quinn, his cousins, Kaelan, Mackenzie, and Madysen Quinn, his great aunt, Mary Sidoti, Mary’s daughter and son-in-law, Maura and Son Vo, as well as other dear family and friends. In addition to his mother, Justin is predeceased by his grandparents, Joseph and Margaret Garvila, Sr., and his great uncle, Andrew Sidoti.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 1pm to 4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, September 23, 2024 at St. Joseph's RC Church, 242 Wall Street, Kingston, NY 12401. Inurnment will take place at 11am on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Hurley Cemetery, Hurley, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Justin’s memory may be made to www.HVHospice.org.
