June Marie Garfman, 67, of Kingston, took the loving hand of Jesus on Friday morning October 16, 2015 at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, Kingston. She was born March 3, 1948 in Kingston, the daughter of the late Robert and Dolores Spadafora Krum.
She was the loving wife of Gerald "Jerry" Garfman, they wed on November 20, 1977.
June was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1966, and had attended SUNY Ulster, for many years she had worked for the Kingston City Schools as a teachers assistant, prior to that she worked at Governor Clinton Market and Golden Hill Health Care Center.
June was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, she had taught Sunday School and was a member of WELCA, she had also attended Grace Community Church. She had led Bible studies and was a member of the Kingston Christian Women's group.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling to the sea shore in New Hampshire and Maine, Pennsylvania Dutch Country and Stowe, VT. She loved shopping, crafts, Bunco and all her loving friends.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her loving family, her children Shin-Ae Garfman of Kingston and Tae Garfman of Troy, her step children Nicole Garfman of Williamsburg, VA., Lara Smith of Sullivan County, Jerilyn Hrycun and her husband Erik, Red Hook, NY, Cornel Garfman and his wife Riina of Hartford, CT. Her grandchildren, to whom she loved to the moon and back, Cole and Connor Hoornbeek of Kingston, her siblings Ronald Spadafora of Virginia Beach, VA, Raymond Spadafora and his wife Melanie of Westport, NY and Patricia Goodfliesh and her husband Robert of Charlottesville, VA. and many step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her sister Barbara Jean and sister in law Carol Spadafora.
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. The family will receive their friends on Monday from 4- 7 pm. The service will be at Evangelical Lutheran Church of The Redeemer on Tuesday at 10:30 am.
