Julie L. Evans of High Falls, NY, died at home, on Sunday, July 22, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late George Verigan and Evelyn Sior.
Julie was known to have a great sense of humor and a loving heart towards all who knew her. An avid gardener, she also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and all kinds of needlework. Julie was the founding member of the 40-60-80 Club, and was extremely proud of her family and her roots, always telling her family and friends that she was raised on Spillway Rd.
Julie was the wife of the late Kenneth J. Evans, Jr. whom she married on January 13, 1951.
Surviving, are two daughters, Deborah A. Carlsen and her husband Thomas of Tillson, Dianna L. Evans of High Falls; two sons, Kevin J. Evans and his wife Angela of High Falls, and Brian D. Evans and his wife Emily of Accord; six grandchildren, Richard Stokes, Kenneth, Taylor, Ashley, Christina, and Kyle Evans; five great grandchildren, Joshua and Ava Stokes, Chad Evans, and Emery and Nathan Miller, a sister, Phyllis McCloskey, along with many nieces and nephews.
A grandson, Brett Evans, and a brother, Tommy Sior, died previously.
Friends will be received at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm.
A Funeral Service, conducted by Pastor Ted Van Dyke, will be held at 7:00pm
Interment will be privately held.
