Julia Ann Witt, 84, of Lake Katrine, died Monday, November 6, 2017 at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus.
Julia was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Blackwelder Witt. Julia was not expected to live beyond 5 years of age according to her sisters account. After Julias father passed away before Julia was 12 years old, Julias mother remarried Robert Truesdale, who then became Julias stepfather.
At that time, Julia moved to Wassaic Developmental Center where she lived until she was 76 years old. Julia then found her way to The ARC of Ulster Greene Palmer House 1.
Julia was well known for her joyful disposition and great sense of humor. She loved to be dressed up, and adored hair bows and jewelry. Julia loved dog therapy, and singing her favorite song Well Sing in the Sunshine. She also loved listening to country music, particularly her favorite singer, Shania Twain. Julia was also a fan of musicals. Most recently, Julia enjoyed dressing up as Minnie Mouse along with a friend in another house for Halloween. Julia was a friend to all of her housemates. She made everyone happy and was well loved by all. Julias laughter, smile, and joyous Weeeeeeee will forever be remembered and missed.
She is survived by her three siblings, John Truesdale; Bernadine Truesdale; and Robert Truesdale as well as her many friends and her ARC of Ulster family.
Julia will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Darlene Kelly officiating.
Burial will follow at Montrepose Cemetery in Kingston.
