Julia A. Maddalone of Chambers Dr., Town of Ulster died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the home of her daughter. She was 71.
She was born in Brooklyn a daughter of the late Paul and Sadie Rappa DeLuca.
She was a secretary in Staten Island, retiring in 1997. She was a volunteer for local soup kitchens and made crafts and care packages for soldiers overseas and local veterans groups. She also made hats and scarfs for Family of Kingston and Woodstock.
Surviving are her daughter Julia Altieri and her husband, Tom of Kingston; two sons, Paul Maddalone of Hoboken, NJ and Eugene Maddalone of California; one sister Frances Ramoy and her husband, Larry of New Jersey; two brothers, John DeLuca and his wife Ruth of New Jersey and Philip DeLuca and his wife, Linda of Florida; three grandchildren, Miranda and Jillian DiToro and Thomas Altieri. Her former husband, Ciro Maddalone of Staten Island and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Wednesday from 2 5 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Cemetery of the Resurrection, Staten Island, NY.
