Judith L. Bush

August 11, 1954 — May 4, 2016

Judith L. Bush (Stokes), 61, of High Falls, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 4, 2016, at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born August 11, 1954, in Ellenville, New York, she is the daughter of Theodora Stokes and the late George A. Stokes. She graduated from Rondout Valley High School in 1972. Judy was employed by The Arc of Ulster-Greene until the birth of her first child. She then dedicated her career to raising her children. Judy was very soft spoken, positive and good natured. She was always able to find the brightness in any dark situation. She had an open heart and was non-judgmental. She accepted everyone and easily welcomed people into her home, her heart and her family. She had a love for animals and wildlife, always looking out for the deer and birds and rescuing injured animals. In addition to her mother, survivors include her beloved husband of 26 years, Stephan J. Bush, of High Falls, two sons Michael J. Bush of High Falls, NY, and Stephen M. Bush and his wife, Angel, of Missoula, Montana, her sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Kenneth Keefe and their son, Nicholas Keefe, her mother-in-law, Gertrude Bush, her aunt Marie Stokes of West Virginia, her cousins Donna Stokes of West Virginia, and Elaine Jansen of New Paltz, NY, her "like a daughter" Ashlee Houghtaling, her cats Cali, Madame Butterfly and Poof, her bunny George, and many other dear relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her brother, George B. Stokes. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Keyser Funeral Home, 326 Albany Avenue in Kingston, NY.
