Joyce Maxson

Joyce Maxson, 91, of Hudson Valley Senior Residence, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015. She was born February 3, 1924 in Asbury Park, NJ to the late Eugene and Edyth (Davy) Maxson.


Joyce was an avid tennis player in her youth. She received her Master's Degree from Columbia Teachers College and later worked in the Engineering Department for AT&T in White Plains. After her retirement she moved to Kingston to be closer to her sister and lived for the past 15 years at the Hudson Valley Senior Residence.


Joyce is survived by her sister, Judith Murray of Kingston, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her sisters, Barbara and Nancy. She was a caring and loving person and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.


Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Sunday from 5 to 7pm with the funeral service starting at 7pm. Burial in Kenisco Cemetery, Valhalla, NY will take place on Monday.
