Joyce A. Brown

Joyce A. Brown – 77 – She started her life in Saratoga Springs as the daughter of John and Angeline Burnett.  She was a rising star in her youth as both a bowler and golfer.  She was the state champion in singles at the age of 16 and continued her achievements on the lanes by winning a TV tournament time event in her early 20’s. 

At the age of 21 she married the love of her life Stephen J. Brown Sr.  They just celebrated their 56^th wedding anniversary on March 19^th.  They had three children, Stephen J Brown Jr. (Michelle White), Michael (Ginna) Brown, and Julie Brady (Victoria Watkins). 

She built a full life here in Kingston through her love of bowling, golf, family, and travel.  She was active in the bowling world and was the president of the local women’s association, inducted into the Kingston Women’s Hall of Fame in 1990 for her achievements on the lanes.  She would spend her spring and summer on the golf course in New Paltz and played in many tournaments throughout the season and always looked forward to seeing the ladies and having some laughs. In addition, she loved going to lunch and taking car trips with best friends Kathy and Pauline.

She has 12 grandchildren (Andria, Ashleigh, Drew, Katrina, Curtis, Zachary, Taylor, Brian, Anaya, Abbie, Alexa) and 11 great-grandchildren that she loved spending time with and enjoyed spoiling all of them as much as possible.  She always looked forward to seeing them and spending time with them.

She was a wonderful person and a great friend to many and will be greatly missed by all.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where friends and family may visit on Monday, May 8, 2023 from 5pm to 9pm, with a prayer service taking place at 6pm. A graveside burial service will take place at 11am on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
