Josephine Peruso

Josephine Peruso, (Jo Mama) of West O'Reilly Street Kingston, died Monday November 30, 2015 at home. Born July 20, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Louis and Jeanette (Bruno) Leone. Josephine was predeceased by her husband of fifty seven years, Albert Peruso.

After raising her three sons, Josephine was a waitress at the Hickory Manor which was owned by her late brother Vince and at Steven's Restaurant. She volunteered at the Johnson Museum, she was an avid New York Yankee fan. She enjoyed watching the Yankee's on television. Her favorite players were Joe DiMaggio and Derek Jeter. She was a member of the Women's Kingston Bowling Association.

She is survived by her sons, Steven Peruso and his wife Robin, Richard Peruso and his wife Ellen, Keith Peruso and his companion Felice; her brother, Louis Leone; her grandchildren, Adriana Peruso, Michael Francello, Ricky and Nicole Peruso, Ben Rosenthal; her dear friends, Anne Cummings, Carole Smith and Madeline Lussier as well as her beloved Bunco Group. Her brothers, Frank and Vince Leone all died previously.

Friends will be received at the A. Carr and Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Avenue Kingston on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral procession will form 9 AM Friday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM at Saint Joseph's Church. Final prayers and commendation in the Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum. Cremation to be held at Wiltwyck Crematory. Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be made in the form of contributions to the Saint Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
