Joseph P Bazzicalupo

Joseph P. Bazzicalupo, Sr., 91, of Saugerties, died Monday, October 24, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Born in the Bronx, NY, Joseph was a son of the late Frank and Mary Bazzicalupo. He worked for the New York City water department for many years. Joseph served our country in the Navy as a Seaman, Second Class during WWII. He enjoyed working around the house and loved spending time with his family. Joseph also loved animals, especially his cats. Joseph is survived by his wife, Mary Gerasia Bazzicalupo and his son, Joseph Bazzicalupo of Saugerties. Two grandchildren, Christine Bazzicalupo and Amanda Bazzicalupo, both of Saugerties, three great-grandchildren, Sage Fusaro, Vincenzo Neglia and Angelo Neglia, three sisters, Antoinette, Doris, and Frances, one brother, Nick, as well as many nieces and nephews also survive. Besides his parents, Joseph was pre-deceased by two sisters, Anna and Susie and four brothers, Lou, Paul, Al, and Frank. Joseph will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home, with Father Bubel officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in New Paltz Rural Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Legion Post 1748, Box 12 Old State Rd., Lake Katrine, NY 12449.
