Joseph L. McDonald

Joseph "Joe" Louis McDonald, 67, of Flatbush Road, Kingston, a lifelong resident of Kingston died Tuesday morning at the Albany Medical Center.




To honor and cherish his memory he leaves his wife of 41 years, Patricia (Kaminski) McDonald, they wed on July 7th, 1968. His children Joseph E. McDonald and his companion Dafne DeJesus of West Shokan, Cheryl Santiago of Kingston, Brian McDonald of Park City, Utah, Nicole McDonald of Saugerties, six grandchildren, brother of James McDonald, Jr. of East Orange, NJ, Lillian McDonald of East Orange, NJ, Jeanette R. Smith of Kingston and Diana McDonald of Durham, NC, many nieces and nephews. Brother of the late Marjorie Griffin and Wayne (Ricky) McDonald and Charles McDonald.




Joe was born in Kingston January 11th, 1942 in Kingston and was the son of the late James and Rose (Burchett) McDonald, Sr, and the stepson of Pauline Lucas McDonald.




He graduated from Kingston High School in 1960. He was a member of the Fountain of Life Church in Lake Katrine. He had worked for IBM of Kingston and Poughkeepsie for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, bowling, reading and gardening. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife. His greatest accomplishment was his devotion to a beautiful marriage and raising a family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, gentleness and kindness by all the lives he touched. He was a devoted husband, father and friend and we will be forever thankful for having him in our lives.






Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, 326 Albany Ave. Kingston, where the family will receive their friends on Thursday from 6 - 9 pm. The Service will be held at the Fountain of Life Church, 71 Old Kings Highway, Lake Katrine on Friday 11 am. Burial in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
