Joseph L. Duffy, 84, of West Hurley, died Friday, January 15, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in West New York, NJ, he was a son of the late James & Myrtle Krum Duffy. Joe served in the Army Engineers Reserves from 1951-1957 attaining the rank of Sargent. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at IBM where he worked from 1950 until his retirement in 1987. He volunteered at the food pantry at St. Johns RC Church in West Hurley and restored many church statues at St. Mary's including the Nativity Set and the Agony In The Garden.
Joe is survived by his wife of 62 years, Arlene Baliszewski Duffy of West Hurley, four children, Joseph L. Duffy of Saugerties, James Duffy and his wife Kathy of Clifton Park, Colleen Duffy of West Hurley and Gail Volk and her husband Robert of West Hurley, five grandchildren, Anna Giovanone and her husband Anthony, Joseph S. Duffy, Kate Volk, Robert Volk and Kelly Ambrosch.
Joe will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 2-6 PM. The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:00 AM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
