Joseph J. Viano Jr., 87, of Kingston, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 25, 1929 in Brooklyn, to the late Joseph and Catherine (Sirico) Viano.
Joe was a graduate of St. Joseph's Catholic School in Kingston. He worked for many years as a plasterer by trade; he also worked at Benedictine Hospital, Huck, and most recently was a crossing guard and security guard. Joe enjoyed, camping, fishing, bowling, and visiting the beach.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara Wolven Viano, his children, Joseph John Viano, Lynn (Howard) Hotaling, Margaret (Sean) O'Connor, Kathleen Sulkey, Barbara Ann Kuhnen, Chris (Debra) Viano, Melissa (Joseph) Goldpaugh, as well as several, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, William and Fortunato Viano, and Emily Marchetti.
Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston. A memorial graveside service will take place in Hurley Cemetery on Saturday August 20th at 10am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at
