Joseph J. "JoJo" Guido, Sr. of Hilton Place, Kingston died Monday, August 16, 2010 at Kingston Hospital. He was 84.
He was born in East Kingston, a son of the late John and Rose Garafalo Guido.
Mr. Guido served as a Boatswain' Mate 1st. Class in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He was a member of the VFW and the former St. Liberata Society of E. Kingston and a former member of the East Kingston Fire Department and the Moose Lodge.
A building engineer, he was retired from Metropolitan Life in Kingston.
His wife, Elizabeth A. "Betty" Klonowski Guido died October 22, 2009.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph J. Guido, Jr. and his wife Andree of New Paltz and David Guido and his wife, Chiharu of Kingston; his step-daughter, Michelle "Rennie" Felton and her husband, George of Ruby; a brother, John Guido of East Kingston; three sisters, Dolores McCauley of Kingston, Connie Carpino of East Kingston and Angelina Orlando of Florida. Six grandchildren, Renee, Brittany and Amber Guido, Ayaka Guido and Jessica and Ashley Felton and many nieces and nephews also survive.
A daughter, Rose Guido and three brothers, Gabriel, Anthony and Ralph Guido died previously.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Deacon Jack Peters will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
