Joseph J. “Redneck” Ellsworth Sr., of O’Neil St., Kingston died Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He was 63.
He was born in Kingston on June 22, 1943, a son of the late Albert and Rosline Ellsworth Quick.
Mr. Ellsworth served 8 years active duty, first in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He then re-enlisted in the US Air Force until 1971.
For 20 years he worked at Numrich Arms.
His daughter, Victoria “Tori” Ellsworth died December 4, 1994. One sister Elizabeth Ellsworth died previously.
Surviving are his children Joseph J. Ellsworth Jr. and his wife Charlotte of West Shokan, Marcy Hogan and her husband Larry of Kingston, and Kris Ellsworth of Kingston; his grandchildren Samantha Hogan, Joseph and Angelina Ellsworth and Nicholas Pendell; his former wife Mary Certoma and former wife Mary Bishop; his brothers Albert Quick of Utah, Carl Quick of Iowa, John Quick of Kingston, James Tuttle of Kingston. Step brothers, step sisters, nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM by Rev. Frank Vernol. Committal services, with military honors by the Joyce - Schirick Post 1386, VFW, will be conducted on Friday at 12:00 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston.
