Joseph Colban

Joseph Colban of Charlotte Creek Road, Oneonta died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Kingston Hospital. He was 82. He was born in Canarsie, Brooklyn on June 29, 1926 a son of the late Joseph and Louise Stewart. For many years Mr. Colban was a warehouseman for A & P, Maspeth, Queens. In 2001 he moved to Oneonta. His former first wife, Lena May Wood Colban and his second wife, Angelina Bryant Mauro Colban both died previously. One daughter Rose Marie Figueroa, three brothers Arthur, Leonard and Albert Colban, and two sisters Lavinia Affrunti and Catherine O'Toole all died previously. Surviving are three sons Raymond Colban and Joseph L. Colban, both of Kingston and Daniel Mauro of Florida; two daughters Louis Bryant of Kingston and Lavinia Duncan of Brooklyn; one brother William Colban of Oneonta and one sister Ann Gannon of Oneonta; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Cremation was in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Inurnment will be private.
