Kingston - Joseph Bottigliero "Joe Pizza" born April 4, 1949, passed away at 1 pm on April 9, 2017. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a Bronx boy who lived life with passion and intensity. Once you met Joe, you never forgot him. He had a big heart and an out-going, gregarious nature. You had to have a strong personality to put up with some of his shenanigans! Joe grew up in Bergan County, NJ with five brothers and two sisters. The Bottigliero family maintained a home in Lanesville, NY and also had connections with the Adirondacks, especially Lake Placid, a place dear to Joe's heart. Joe touched the lives of many people. His love of music, pool/billiards and "quirky" bits of information that he loved to share kept his life full and adventurous. Last year when his world began to fail, both physically and mentally, he could no longer be the man he was. His suffering has ended. May he be at peace. Joe is survived by seven children and five ex-wives. He will never be forgotten. Services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 10 am to 12 noon at Keyser Funeral Home, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY. A procession will follow to New Paltz Cemetery where he will have a military burial. Donations may be sent in Joe's name to the Ulster County SPCA, 20 Wiedy Rd., Kingston, NY 12401.
