Dr Joseph Bernard Stier, beloved husband of Carol Berger Stier, son of the late Essie and Dr Irving Stier, died at his home in High Falls, NY, on the first of September, 2008 after a brief illness.
Joseph was the loving father of Dr David Stier of San Francisco, California and Dr Deborah Stier of Northampton Massachusetts. He was the doting grandfather of Noah Stier, Ethan Stier, Izzy Kornblatt-Stier, and Ruth Kornblatt-Stier, and the loving brother of Dr Stanley Stier of Cromwell, Connecticut. He was predeceased by his elder brother, Walter Stier.
Born in 1929, he grew up in the Bronx and attended DeWitt Clinton High. A graduate of New York University and NYU Dental School, he served as a dentist in the US Navy and went on to practice dentistry in Queens, NY, dedicating his energy and skill to his patients for 55 years before retiring in 2007. Joseph was a talented pianist with a broad repertoire of popular music spanning the decades from the 1920s to 1950s. A lifelong horticulturist, he found time to build beautiful and expansive gardens at his home.

NY State Thruway to Garden State Parkway South to exit 165 (Oradell). Exit onto Oradell Avenue. Make left at 2ND traffic light onto Forest Avenue. You will see cemetery beginning at the intersection of Forest Avenue and Soldier Hill Road. Continue on Forest Avenue to the main cemetery gates on your left.
