Joseph A. Ferraro, Jr. of Seyler Terrace, Glasco died Friday, October 28, 2011 at Golden Hill Health Care Facility. He was 83.
He was born in Glasco, a son of the late Joseph and Maria Martino Ferraro. Joe served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
In his younger years Joe worked for both the Washburn and Staples Brickyards. He then worked at I.B.M., Kingston for 30 years. Joe retired in 1987 and belonged to the Quarter Century Club.
A member of the Saugerties American Legion, he was an exempt member of the Glasco Fire Company.
Beloved husband of Ida Zanni Ferraro who died October 16, 2006, loving father of Maria Riccio and her husband John of Glasco, grandfather of Nicholas and Joseph Riccio, uncle to many nieces and nephews. The youngest of 11, he was predeceased by four brothers Louis "Pee Wee", James "Butzie", Charles and Arthur Ferraro and six sisters Lillian Barilla, Catherine Nardi, Margie Secreto, Rose Tiano, Alvay Cafaldo and Ida Scorzo.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday from 3:00 - 6:00 PM and Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM. The funeral procession will form on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Glasco at 10;00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery.
