Joseph A. Abdallah

Joseph A. "Smokin' Joe" Abdallah, formerly of Kingston died Sunday, August 24, 2008 in Gainesville, Florida. He was 59. He was born in Kingston on July 5, 1949, a son of Mildred Donnelly Abdallah and the late Albert Abdallah. He attended Kingston High School and entered the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Abdallah served in South East Asia. He was a former member of the V.F.W. Mr. Abdallah was a photographer for the Historic Preservation of Catskill. He later worked, for many years, at the Saugerties Packaging Plant. A musician, Mr. Abdallah played harmonica with the Paul Luke Band. Formerly of Saugerties and Kingston, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1995. Surviving in addition to his mother of Kingston, are his wife, Shirley O'Brien Abdallah; his daughter Shawna Iwanowski of Samsonville, two brothers Philip Abdallah of Oceanside, CA and Geoffrey G. Abdallah and his wife Leslie of Rifton; one sister Elise Clausi of Kingston; two grandchildren Joseph Abdallah and Mia Iwanowski; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Kingston on September 6, 2008 at 12:00.
