Jonathan Daniel Sellers

Jonathan Daniel Sellers, 57, of New Paltz, NY, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022. He was born October 20, 1964, in Poughkeepsie, NY, son of Margaret Claire (Lestina) Sellers and the late Frederick Fairbanks Sellers, Jr.

Jon was married to Beth (Boening) Sellers. They were one of the first Down syndrome married couples in New York State. He was a 1986 graduate of Kingston High School’s Tobin Learning Center. For many years he worked in an Arc-supported program at Central Hudson in New Paltz, NY, where he was a recycler. He actively participated in Special Olympics throughout his life.  As an adult, he developed a passion for downhill skiing through Windham’s Adaptive Ski Foundation program. Jon and his wife Beth loved dancing as a couple and won several Spring Fling dancing competitions sponsored by The Arc.

Jon is survived by his wife, Beth Sellers of New Paltz, his mother, Margaret Sellers and her husband Victor Melville of Kingston, his sister, Katharine Sellers and her husband John Vassiliou of Berwyn, PA, his niece, Helenmarie Vassiliou, his nephew, Jason Vassiliou, his sister, Betsy Baysinger and her husband Brian of Bethesda, MD, his nephew, Daniel Baysinger, his niece, Linnea Baysinger, his mother- and father-in-law, Robert and Merriam Boening of Hurley, his sisters-in-law Pamela (Boening) Barton and Amanda (Boening) Copans, as well as many dear friends in his house, at The Arc, and elsewhere.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where a memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday July 30, 2022. Interment will follow in Hurley Cemetery, Hurley, NY.

The life-long support of The Arc Mid-Hudson greatly enriched Jon's life. As such, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Arc Mid-Hudson Foundation at www.arcmh.org.
