John Batman Wright, a.k.a. Bats, 46, of Port Ewen, NY, died on June 17, 2018. John was born and raised in Manhattan, NY. He was the son of the late Cynthia Bell Sargent.
John is survived by his wife, Natasha Stephanie Wright, whom he married on June 27, 2016. A son, Jonathan Wright, also survives. John is survived by so many friends that he loved and considered his family.
John truly had the biggest heart, he made it a point to always laugh and smile. He was an amazing husband to his wife whom he absolutely loved and adored. John was also an amazing friend. He was the type of man who would give his shirt off his back to anyone in need. John was an honest, loving, and compassionate man who had so much life in him. He absolutely loved wrestling, and was the biggest fan of WWE. Every Monday and Tuesday nights were wrestling nights at our home. John loved going back to his hometown, Manhattan New York, where I loved watching him transform into his city swagger.
John worked with disabled individuals and young adults with autism for many years, for whom he had a tremendous amount of love, patience, and compassion. He was loved by his consumers. John received his CDL and began driving a cement mixer truck. He was an incredibly hard worker with so much ambition, and had a great relationship with his fellow cement mixer drivers.
John will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 4-8 PM.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, 10:00 AM, at the funeral home with Rev. David Brechter officiating.
