John Marino, 81, of Mt. Marion, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016. He was born October 31, 1934 in Glasco, son of the late, Viola (Bruno) Marino. He was married to his loving wife of 60 years, Jean (Mauro) Marino.
John was a graduate of Saugerties High School, Class of 1952. He worked for many years at IBM Kingston, retiring in 1986 as a member of the Quarter Century Club. After retirement he and his brother Joe were partners of a thoroughbred breeding and boarding business in Saugerties, JM Stables, Inc. He was a member of the New York Thoroughbred Breeders. He was co-breeder of Trinniberg, Breeders Cup Winner and Eclipse Award Champion Sprinter. JM Stables has bred numerous winners at Belmont, Aqueduct, and Saratoga.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, James Marino and his wife Marlene, his granddaughters, Marissa Lydon and her husband Dan, Chelsea Conner and her husband John, his great granddaughter, Marie Lydon, all of Austin, TX, his brother, Joseph Marino and his wife Kathy of Mt. Marion, his niece, Kim Petramale and her husband Lou, of Saugerties, as well as several cousins, and great nephews.
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Sunday April 10th from 4pm to 8pm. The procession will form on Monday at 9am at the funeral home and proceed to St. Colman Church, 18 Brigham St., East Kingston where at 10am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in the Wiltwyck Cemetery Mausoleum.
