John Macaluso

June 1, 1926 — September 1, 2015

John Macaluso, 89, of Kingston, formerly of Jamaica Estates, NY, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at home. He was born June 1, 1926 in Manhattan, to the late Anthony and Mary (Armato) Macaluso. He was married to his wife of 60 years, Mary (Vicino) Macaluso. They wed on January 23rd 1955.


John graduated from Xavier High School in Manhattan and was later the owner of Pyramid Insurance Agency in Great Neck, NY. He was very active in the Lions Club where he served as President of the Jackson Heights Lions Club from 1976 to 1977 and the Kingston Lions Club from 2003 to 2004. He was also a member of the Queensboro Elks club from 1956 to 1997.


In addition to his wife he is survived by his son John, two daughters Rosemarie and Catherine, four grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. He was predeceased by his brother, Salvatore.


Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Thursday September 3rd from 4 to 7pm. The funeral procession will form on Friday at 9am and proceed to St. Joseph's RC Church, 242 Wall St., Kingston where at 10am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery.
