John L. Casey of Reservoir Rd. died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. He was 79.
He was born March 25, 1927 in Amsterdam, a son of the late John L. and Marjorie Beckman Casey Sr.
A photographer and printer in the Army Air Corps and later Air Force, he saw service during WW II, Korea and Viet Nam. He was a member of the Lamouree-Hacket Saugerties American Legion Post 72.
Mr. Casey taught printing for the New York State Department of Corrections at the Greene Correctional Facility. He also was a substitute teacher at Saugerties H.S.
Surviving is his wife, Dorothy Polin Casey whom he married November 29, 1958; three daughters, Marjorie Clark of Athens, Jacqueline Carey of Saratoga Springs and Nancy Maggiore of Marysville, WA; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Ohio and Nancy Casey of Albuquerque, NM.
Six grandchildren also survive. A grandson died previously.
Cremation will take place in Wiltwyck Cemetery. Inurnment will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon- Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville at a later date.
