John "Jack" Eigo, Sr., 86, a lifelong resident of Kingston, died Friday, January 1, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Kingston, he was a son of the late Frank & Loretta Burger Eigo. John was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a cutter at various shirt & dress factories throughout the years until his retirement in 2001. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna Cermak Eigo, whom he married on April 17, 1954, a son, John J. Eigo, Jr and his wife Joy of Connelly, two daughters, Deborah Mine and her husband Michael of Glenmont, NY, Linda Lowe and her husband Steven of Kingston, 9 grandchildren, Marie Eigo, Victoria Eigo, Melissa Eigo Hammersley, Hans Eigo, Aric Mine, Jennifer Mine, Larissa Street, Kiersten Bahruth, Michael Lowe, three great grandchildren, Mark Hammersley, Mikala Eigo and Josie Ana Street. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
John will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Thursday, January 7, 2015 from 4-8 PM.
The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Friday at 9:00 AM.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Interment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
