John J. Augustine

John J. Augustine, 90, a lifelong resident of Kingston, died Monday, January 6, 2014 at his home. Born in Kingston, he was a son of the late Michael & Anyella Zaplatka Augustyn. John was a veteran of the US Navy having served during WWII in the Pacific Theater on the USS Louisville. He worked for the New York Central Railroad for 20 years and then the US Post Office on Cornel St. John is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lillian Fuscardo Augustine of Kingston, whom he married on June 30, 1946, a son, John J. Augustine, Jr. and his wife Beverly of Colonial Beach, VA, a daughter, Sharon Augustine of Hyde Park, a sister, Frances Sass of New Salem, two grandchildren, Jan Marie Clatterbuck and Jill Augustine. Two great grandchildren, Lukas Clatterbuck and Ireta Marie Crabtree, as well as many nieces and nephews also survive. Service and interment will be private.
