John H. Brown Sr.

John H. Brown Sr. of Farm-to-Market Road, Town of Ulster died Friday, July 16, 2004 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 62. John was born in Queens County on June 6, 1942, a son of the late Vernon and Frances Brown. He moved to this area in the 1950's and graduated Onteora High School, Class of 1960. A licensed Master Electrician, Mr. Brown, for 43 years, worked for several area electrical contractors. An avid hunter, John was a social member fo the Glasco Fire Company. His wife Ruth T. 'Sis' Chambers Brown died February 17, 2003. Two sisters Joan Boughton and Lynn Brown, both died previously. Surviving are two daughters Joanne Meyers and her partner Anthony Alamnia of Phoencia and Julie Brown and her partner David Daley of Kingston; one son John Brown Jr. and his wife Colleen of Saugerties; one sister Doris Palmer of Kingston; four grandchildren John Brown III, Ryan Brown, Keith Brown and Shannon Meyers; several nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Avenue on Monday from 11:00 - 1:00 PM. At 1:00 PM a funeral service will be conducted by Fr. Frank Wallner. Interment will follow in the Wiltwyck Cemetery. Contributions, in John's memory, may be made to Hospice, Inc., 34 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401.
